6 Newsletters You Need to Read

While I’m an avid reader of newsletters, a handful of writers have stood out from the pack in their ability to consistently improve my clarity of thought.

I edit my personal subscriptions pretty ruthlessly, with only about 15 newsletters hitting my inbox every week. Out of that cohort, here are the Top 6 that I actively look forward to and open within seconds.

Highly recommend checking them out — let’s dive in.

1. Monday Medley by Nat Eliason

I initially came across Nat’s writing via his blog — an insane compilation of his book notes, reflections, and essays spanning lifestyle, health, and business.

He’s involved in a range of projects — content creation, courses, agency work — and is prolific by all accounts. More importantly, he’s doesn’t take himself too seriously and writes with a light, playful, and empathic tone.

2. Wellness Wisdom by Patricia Mou

Patricia’s gift is her ability to naturally weave together an introspective nature with actionable advice. She’s one of my favorite writers in the wellness space.

Her most recent year in review really struck a chord with me, specifically in her focus on identifying folks that give energy versus drain your energy.

3. Fintech Today by Julie VerHage and Ian Kar

When I first got into the startup world, I had zero interest and little understanding of the fintech space at large. Over time, as I’ve integrated financial wellness as part of my broader interests, I’ve begun to dive deeper into the industry.

With regards to getting up to speed and staying in the know on emerging fintech trends, there’s truly no better resource than Fintech Today.

4. Not Boring by Packy McCormick

On the business end, Packy’s newsletter is a must-read. Similar in style to Nat, he never fails to deliver novel insights in a refreshing and light manner.

Packy’s recent post reflecting on 2020 was particularly interesting, in which he reframes COVID’s impact on creativity and progress through an optimistic lens.

5. Jungle Gym by Nick deWilde

I only recently came across Nick’s writing and was immediately struck with his ability to translate complex, provocative ideas into actionable next steps.

His newsletter — Jungle Gym — focuses on building a more fulfilling career that integrates work with your lifestyle. Right up my alley.

6. The Profile by Polina Marinova

Polina is quickly becoming one of the prolific content creators on the internet, spanning creation across written, visual, and audio formats.

Her most recent dossier on David Goggins was particularly fascinating, touching on his mental toughness, immunity to pain, and intentional work ethic.
